CARLINVILLE — The Lincolnwood Lancers traveled to Carlinville on Saturday night to take on the Cavaliers. The MSM boys basketball conference matchup game resulted in the Lancers taking the win by a final score of 36-31.
The first half began fairly even with the score being tied at seven after one quarter of play. Then little by little the Lancers began to pull away. Lincolnwood’s lockdown defense kept the Cavs at bay keeping every opponent player under double digit points. The 1-2 punch of the teams senior- junior duo kept the points raining all night long. Junior, Braden Whalen, lead scoring for the Lancers notching 14 points while Gabe Armentrout (sophomore) added 11 and knocked down three 3-pointers. Freshman Jonah Elvidge savored two
in the contest. Schmedeke and Jenkins completed the scoring for the Lancers with a combined 6 points.
By out scoring their Carlinville opponent 36- 31. The Lancers now improve their regular season record to 12-10 and have a conference record of 3-2.
Lincolnwood will be in Virden on Tuesday night to challenge the North Mac Panthers.
