TAYLORVILLE — The Taylorville Public Schools Foundation (TPSF) will hold it annual Spring Fundraiser on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at The Pillars in Taylorville. This year, the entertainment is a murder mystery dinner theater provided by the JEST Mystery Co., www.jestmurdermystery.com The public is invited to the mayhem of “WHO’S CAUSING ALL THIS “BLOOMING” TROUBLE (the setting is Aunt Dee’s garden party), and volunteers from the audience will hopefully participate in this production so the audience can solve this mystery of the “MUUURDER IN MAAABURY” by the end of the night. This audience participation is interspersed throughout a delicious dinner that is served by Angelos and is sure to bring about an evening filled with suspense and laughter. The TPSF always strives to bring entertainment to Taylorville that is unique and engaging.
This year’s entertainment was originally scheduled for March, 2020, and then Covid changed our plans. The Foundation Board thanks our individual and business sponsors and our community members who have continued to donate the past 2 years to the Foundation to enhance and enrich the public schools in the Taylorville Community Unit School District #3 (TCUSD#3). These funds have provided much needed resources that encompass the core subjects and also include the arts, physical education, and special education. These funds also provided resources for the extra expenses the schools have incurred during the pandemic. The TPSF raises money each year through the Spring Fundraiser along with memorials, donations, VIP Parking, teaming with McDonald’s for McTeacher Night, the Year End Appeal, and Fund A Need. All money received by the Foundation, a non-profit organization, is then given to school district personnel in the form of teacher Mini-Grants, All-School Grants, All District Grants, and the Fund A Need Program.
For those interested in an evening of good food, a cash bar, suspense, and laughter, please reserve a spot at the TPSF’s murder mystery theater production “MUUURDER IN MAAABURY” by the JEST Murder Mystery Co. on Saturday, March 26, at The Pillars. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a Social Hour, appetizers, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, Fund A Need information and the most important presentation of the “Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award” to Kathy Fergin, Class of ‘81. Following the social hour, the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater will begin. The cost is $40 per ticket or $75 per couple.
