Pana get 59-54 win over St. Joe- Ogden

(RIVERTON) — Seniors Brenden Schoonover and Devon Peebles scored 46 of the Pana Panthers’ points in a 59-54 win over St. Joe-Ogden at the Riverton Shootout on Saturday. Schoonover poured in 26 points and Peebles added 20 in the contest.

Pana improves to 26-3 on the season.

The Panthers were able to withstand the onslaught of 6-4 junior guard Ty Pence, who led all scorers with 32 points. Pence is a highly recruited Division I prospect being sought by several teams including Illinois.

Ahead 14-9 after one quarter, the Spartans pulled out to a 30-28 halftime lead. Pana’s defense was able to hold down the rest of the Spartans in the second half, out-scoring them, 31-24 in the second half to post the win.

Kyle Kuhn and Drew Hackler each had 4 points while Max Lynch it a 3-pointer in the game. Colin Schmitz rounded out the scoring with 2 points.

Pana, 6-0 in the South Central Conference, are home on Tuesday night to face conference rival Gillespie, before traveling to Greenville on Friday night, Feb. 17, 2022 to take on the Comets in SCC action.
