Buchanan named Taylorville Memorial’s ‘Colleague of Month’

TAYLORVILLE – Jeremy Buchanan, a phlebotomist in the laboratory at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for January.

Like many of his colleagues, Buchanan, of Taylorville, is pulled in many different directions throughout his workday, but his compassion and care for patients never wavers, hospital officials said.

Buchanan considers direct patient care to be the most rewarding part of his work.

“I love meeting new people and interacting with my patients, playing a vital role in the care they receive at Taylorville Memorial,” he said.

Buchanan has worked at Taylorville Memorial Hospital since 2020. He plans to pursue his master’s degree in medical laboratory science.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time poolside with his husband, Cody, and their three dogs.
