Robert E. Hanks Sr.

Robert E. Hanks
Sr., went home to be with his Lord, whom
he loved very much. Bob passed away on Thursday, February 10,
2022 at 1:35 p.m. at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy, IL.
He was born on February 17,
1934 in Forsyth, IL the son of
Harold J. and Oka M. (Hauser)
Hanks. He married Rose M.
Longstreth on August 26,
1954; they have been married
67 years. Bob loved his family
very much. Robert owned his
own business Hanks Heating
and Cooling for over 50 years in Taylorville. He served his country during the Korean War. He will be greatly missed.
He is the father of three children: Deborah L. Vacker, Dawn K. Hanks and Robert E. Hanks Jr.; grandchildren: Matthew Vacker, Joshua Miller, Jake Miller, Russell D. Hanks, great- grandchildren: Colton Vacker, Christian Vacker, Jessica Vacker Spalding, Gavin Vacker, Alexis Miller, Cecilia Miller, Zackery Miller, Olivia Miller, great-great-grandson: Ian Spalding, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death parents, and his brothers Jackie and Donald Hanks.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date with Pastor Tiney Walker officiating. Inurnment will be in with military graveside honors.
