After taking over as Head Coach only to have the season canceled in 2020 and shortened in 2021. He has also been the coach of the Edinburg Junior High team for three years. The goals for this season fall in line with the type of motivation you love to see and hear from a coach.
“Our goals are a winning season with an emphasis on momentum.” said Royer.

Returning 5 seniors Myla Bigelow, Mia Pop, Juli Orr, Rylie Burney, and Alexus Montgomery who will guide the team this coming spring. Key player and fierce competitor Ryleigh Davidson will also be grouped in with the senior leaders. The junior was 2nd team All-Conference her sophomore season and has the natural ability to support the younger players.
Keen eyes will be on underclassmen Abi Cook and Lily Wake. The sophomore, Cook, has played with Central Illinois Riot will join the team as a catcher for her first season after an injury last year. Freshman newcomer will make her anticipated Wildcat debut. Wake was an All-State basketball player and great all around athlete.
These players will have to work hard this season in order to compete in the MSM division.
“Our conference will no doubt remain competitive with Tri-City and coach Sturdy’s program continuing their momentum and strong work ethic.” commented Coach Royer. “Lincolnwood and Morrisonville will combine strength and competition to their programs. Pawnee is always competitive and finds ways to win. We don’t take a single team lightly in our conference and look forward to competing.”
The Wildcat softball team will be ready to compete against any team come game day. With 11 strong upperclassmen they form a lean but tight group of girls.
“We have high hopes to be competitive with strong athletes in key positions.” We will have our own challenges with confidence and endurance as the season progresses
