Early voting for Primary Election set to start in county

(CHRISTIAN COUNTY) — Christian County Clerk and Recorder Jacque Willison announces early voting and mail-in ballot requests for the June 28, 2022 Primary Election will soon be available to county residents.
Residents can go on line to the county website (christiancountyil.com) and under the Clerk and Recorder tab, select elections and find an application for a mail-in ballot. Saturday, May 14, 2022, is the first day those ballots can be mailed out to a voter.
The completed ballot must be returned to the Christian County Clerk’s Office, postmarked by the election day, June 28, 2022. Ballots will be accepted for counting through July 12, 2022, as long as the ballots contain the June 28 postmark.
Thursday, May 19, 2022 is the first day for early voting in the county. Voters can stop in at the clerk’s office in the Courthouse through June 27, 2022 to vote early, in-person. Hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturday, June 18 and 25, 2022, the office will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. for early in-person voting only.
Voters will be nominating candidates to run for the county wide offices of State’s Attorney (unexpired term); County Clerk; Sheriff, Treasurer and Supervisor of Assessment. All 16 seats for the Christian County Board are also open for election.
Statewide, voters will nominate candidates for one of two US Senate seats; Governor and Lt. Governor; Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer and Comptroller. Candidates for all seats of US Representative in Congress will also be selected.
The 2022 General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022.
