How many of us have asked the question, “Is NOW the time?”
Time for a relationship
Time for kids
Time for family
Time for a job change
Time for a new book
Time for a new look on life
Time to help a neighbor
Time to help a loved one
And the list can go on and on…
So the question also becomes, Why NOT now? What holds us back?
In Ecclesiastes 3:1, it says “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
Are we listening and waiting for sign? Do we at times feel a calling? That NOW is the time? What is your calling? Is now the time to step forward to be a better person, a better sibling, a better spouse, a better coworker, a better employee, a better boss, a better friend? Is now the time to be a better CHRISTIAN?
In Job 8:7, it says, “Although your former state was ordinary, your future will be EXTRAORDINARY.”
But maybe we are good with life the way it currently is. Don’t we at times fear the idea of change? We may be comfortable in our current being even though we know God has a plan for us. Maybe we think that we’re living the plan and no change is needed. Do you notice that God puts suggestions and thoughts all around us but at times we fail to see the direction of the change? Even the change for the better?
When it comes to Christ – NOW is always the time. There isn’t a bad time to have Christ in our lives, to have his love and guidance in our lives. And to share his love with all those around us. NOW is the time. It is no longer a question. However, we continue to see it as a question as we pursue life. As we go thru life, we need to discontinue the concept of DELAY, and need to remember to move forward. Now that doesn’t mean make hasty, uninformed decisions, but to read, pray, educate ourselves and move forward with confidence and with the love of the Lord.
In Ephesians 4: 23-24, it says “Renew the thinking in your mind by the spirit and clothe yourself with the new person created according to God’s image in justice and true holiness.”
Renew. Open to change. In life, we like to look back. While it’s great to learn about family history, or to learn from our mistakes or better yet, recall a fond memory in our past. However, we cannot live in our past. So, is NOW the time? It is the time to live life. Live life with Christ beside you to help us through life. They say there is no time like the present. Only the Lord knows our future, but we know there is a calling for each of us every day. A calling to be a better Christian. A calling to be a better person. A calling to be a better friend. A calling to be a better family member. Now is the time to have Christ in our daily decisions. To realize he is with us to change our trajectory. Sometimes it’s just a change in how we look at life that provides the clarity we need.
In Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day the Lord hath made, rejoice and be glad in it”
This is the Day, the time is NOW. Feel your calling. Embrace the change. Be a better Christian.
NOW is YOUR time..
God Bless
