Taylorville City Council The Taylorville City Council will meet Monday, May 16, 2022 at 7 p.m., following the public hearing/plan commission re: special use adult-use cannabis dispensing organization at 6:30 p.m. Agenda for the regular city council meeting includes: Youth of the Month Gage Rusher, omnibus vote designation, plan commission recommendations, ordinances: adding a new Chapter 16 to Title 10 of City code re: special use for adult-use cannabis dispensing organization; ordinance amending paragraph A of section 5-4-7 of City code re: cannabis; ordinance granting special use for development and operation of a 1.125 megawatt solar energy facility on GSI Group, LLC property; ordinance accepting dedication too Wilma Dr., resolution to approve power purchase agree with Renewable Energy Evolution (REE) concerning Solar Array Energy Systems project at City’s water treatment plant site; motions: approve engineering proposal from Benton & Associates for E. Tidwell St. and N. Cheney St. improvements with $11,800 to be paid from BDD fund and $3200 to be paid from applicable ward funds; motion to approve purchase of 2019 Dodge Charger V8 Hemi engine police vehicle from Mo. Highway Patrol at cost of $21,000 with additional vehicle equipment to be added for total cost not to exceed $33,500; approve special events permit for Taylorville Blackhorse Veterans PowWow at W. Main Cross and Webster Streets on May 27-29, 2022; approve special events permit for Journey in July to be held on West, South and East sides of square on July 15-17, 2022; clarification of ARPA funds for payment of employee retention bonus, city attorney updates, mayor updates; Personnel committee – motion to approve bid/advertise heavy equipment operator B at water treatment plant; Emergency Services – Motions to allow purchase of 19 new computers for squad cars at cost not to exceed $72,901 and motion to forward FY2022/23 police dept. budget to finance committee; Lake/Airport Committee – motions to: sign standard agreement for consultant services at Ill. Airports for architectural/engineering (A/E), planning and special services by and between City of Taylorville and Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., approve addition of handicap portable toilet to be placed at Veteran’s Memorial Park at cost of $40 per week to be added to current contract with Nolen Plumbing, approve placement of holding tanks at individual lake lots and campgrounds by Nolen Plumbing at cost to be paid by individual lease holders at Lake Taylorville; Water/Environmental – Motions: approve purchase of trailer attenuator from warning signs at cost not to exceed $31,925 with water dept. contributing $8,000 toward purchase price; recommend to approve purchase of Diamond Wire Hydraulic Saw from E.H. Wachs at cost not to exceed $9,135; approve upgrade of billing software in water collection office by Tyler Technologies at cost not to exceed $7,134 for set-up and yearly cost for maintenance and updating of $1,169; motion to approve and/ or ratify payment of bills totaling $436,903.09; public comments, adjourn.

Taylorville Public Library

The Taylorville Public Library will meet on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. for a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees.
