Tornadoes season ends against Mascoutah

HIGHLAND — The Taylorville Tornadoes battled the Mascoutah Indians for the IHSA Regional Semifinals match in Highland. Taylorville struggled to contain the high powered offense of the Indians as they went on to fall, 21-2 the final.

The Tornadoes used four pitchers on Wednesday afternoon. The group gave up 21 runs (14 earned) on eight hits and 12 base on ball.

The sticks could not make consistent contact with the team as a whole collecting just three hits in 16 at-bats. The offense notched two runs, three walks and eight strikeouts.

The varsity baseball team finishes the 2022 season with a 9-16 record and a seventh place spot in the Apollo Conference.
