I’m trying to wrap my head around our Community Action Team and their importance in Christian County. On Friday, there was a call placed to 911 in regards to active shooter. The Taylorville Police Chief decided to activate the “elite SWAT Team” from Taylorville and surrounding towns. This means the members who patrol other cities have to run hot to Taylorville. These members are driving very very fast putting themselves and others in harm and for what???? To feel like some super cop?? They are also leaving their towns unprotected while they go to a situation where they are not wanted and was not asked to come to. The Warden made the right decision and called the Illnois State Police SWAT Team. You know the ones that practice and train all day everyday. Not the ones from Taylorville and surrounding towns that rack up thousands of dollars in overtime in training. I have lived in this town for a very long time and we have survived without a bunch of wanna be Rambos.
