CHRISTIAN COUNTY — The Executive, Personnel, Liquor and Legislative Committee met on a scorching Monday night, June 13. They discussed Committee rules, what to do with the remaining ARPA Funds and various staffing requests.
The first two slots on the agenda were skipped due to their being no public comments and no one to represent the Emergency Management Agency to give an update.
They began with the topic of County Board Legislative Rules. They reached the conclusion to strike rules I, J and K with the addition of removing L. Further discussion will be held on the issue next month.
The annual cybersecurity costs were discussed and how to cover the price of maintenance. The matter was sent to the Finance Committee to review the option to take the cost out of ARPA funds.
The Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management Agency (EMA) request were both moved to next month’s meeting.
The Zoning Board of Appeals Meteorological Tower Text Amendment fees were discussed. Questions such as “how much per tower?” and “How long would the fee be active?” were asked. The motion to recommend to the full County Board a 5 year cap of $10,000 passed unanimously.
Christian County Supervisor of Assessment Chad Coady requested a supervisor position in his office. The request passed then was withdrawn due to lack of information of salary and job description. The request was moved to next month.
Talks of an Animal Control Department Head were heard. Chairman Craig Corzine approved a salary in the range of $39,478 to $41,715. All potential employees are required to be residents of Christian County unless further exception is in place. The motion passed unanimously.
There was no action taken on the matters of Animal Control staffing and Solid Waste Educator.
The committee went into Closed Session to discuss employment, compensation and various other subject matters at 8:35 and resumed the meeting at 9:16.
No action was taken in the closed session it was announced and no action was taken when they retured to open session.
The motion to adjourn passed a minute later at 9:17 p.m.
