TAYLORVILLE — Robert and Debra (Rush) McGehee are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 24, 2022. Robert and Debra were married on June 24, 1972 in Taylorville, Illinois at Calvary Baptist Church.
The couple are longtime residents of Taylorville. Robert was born in Taylorville and is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as an electrician from Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. in Decatur. Debra was born in Jackson. TN but has lived in Taylorville since childhood. She retired out of Mid-State Special Education in Taylorville. The couple met in Taylorville after Robert “stole the rubber ducky hanging from Deb’s rear-view-mirror.”
Robert and Debra attend Grace Baptist Church in Taylorville. They are the parents of Christopher McGhee of Redlands, CA and Michelle McGhee of Bryan, TX. The couple hopes to celebrate with family and friends soon.
