CHRISTIAN COUNTY — Margaret Holthaus and Kennedie Cearlock each received a $1,200 scholarship offered this year by the University Women of Christian County (UWCC). Scholarship Chairman Ann Chandler presented the checks at the June 7, 2022 meeting of UUWC.
Margaret Holthaus is the daughter of Robert and Jill Holthaus of Stonington, Illinois. She is a graduate of Taylorville High School. She is a junior at Southern Illinois University located in Edwardsville, Illinois. She is planning to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and have a minor in Forensics. She hopes to become a Forensic Nurse. In the future she plans to further her career by becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
Kennedie Cearlock is the daughter of Kelly and Jamie Cearlock of Taylorville, Illinois. She is simultaneously a graduate of Taylorville High School and has attained an Associate’s Degree in Science from Lincolnland College. She is entering Florida State University with the credits of a junior. She plans to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, and apply to medical school with aspirations of becoming a primary care physician.
