PANA — Pana Community Hospital has received notification that Decatur Ambulance Service will be closing and will no longer provide service beginning September 1, 2022. “Pana Community Hospital has had a long-standing relationship with Decatur Ambulance to provide transport of our patients for many years. We are saddened to see Decatur Ambulance services dissolve.” stated Greg Hager, Nurse Outpatient Services Manager.
President and CEO, Trina Casner stated: “The care of our patients is always our top priority. We are extremely fortunate to have several transport resources available in the Pana area. We will continue to work with our other partners to ensure 24-hour coverage to transport patients.”
Pana Community Hospital is a 22-bed critical access hospital. In 2021, we served 5,079 patients in the Emergency Department. Pana Community Hospital transferred 56 patients by helicopter and had 1,438 ambulance trips. Our local hospital continues to play a critical role in providing healthcare to our community by providing emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services.
Pana is also being served by Echo Response EMS Ambulance Service.
