TAYLORVILLE — On Tuesday, the Taylorville Board of Education held a reception in the high school cafeteria honoring the 2021-22 retiring teachers. They had cake and lemonade, and the teachers received engraved, old-fashioned school bells to commemorate their time in the district. Pictured are Kristine Daugherty and Arthur Ward. Daugherty worked in early childhood education, teaching third grade for nine years and preschool for the past 14 years. Ward worked in special education at the junior and senior high levels for the past 15 years. Joseph Champley and Tonya Goodroe also retired this year but were unable to attend the event.
