Michael “Mike” J. Reynolds, 79, of Pawnee passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Hillsboro Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Feb. 23, 1943 in Springfield, the son of Jesse and Hazel Burt Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Milo “Mike” and Robert “Bob”; sister, Doris Drea and his beloved Schnauzer, Greta.

He grew up in the Pawnee area and was a 1961 graduate of Taylorville High School. In 1993, he received his associateís degree from Lincoln Land Community College. He worked at the Secretary of State, retiring after 35 years of service.

Mike married the love of his life, Marilyn Boblitt on Sept. 21, 1963.

He served on the Pawnee Village Board as a Trustee and Pawnee Zoning Board for many years. He was a master instructor for the Department of Natural Resources for their hunter safety courses. Mike also volunteered at Lincolnís New Salem State Park as an interpreter. Over the years, he was an active church member.

He liked to go deer hunting, camping and fishing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys on TV.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Marsha; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

After almost 50 years, we have many cherished memories of our family and you will never be forgotten. Visitation will be from 4 pm till 6 pm, Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Pawnee United Methodist Church. Services will be at 10 am, Monday at the church with Rev. Bobby Davis officiating. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee.
