Florence Marcella “Babe” (Howard) Canada

July 5, 1931 —  June 30, 2022

Florence Marcella “Babe” (Howard) Canada was born July 5, 1931 in Morrisonville, Ill. She passed away in her home in Santa Ana, Calif. on June 30, 2022.
She was a vibrant 90 years young (and only 6 days shy of her 91st birthday)

She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend.

Babe met Roger Keith Canada in St. Louis Missouri and they married on July 11, 1953.

They had six children together; three boys and three girls. She managed to raise children and have a career when most women didnít even work outside the home.

After attending St. Johns Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, Ill. she began a nursing career at Barns Hospital in St, Louis, Missouri, then onto St. Johns and St, Lukes in St, Louis, as well. She enjoyed caring for others and it showed in her work ethic.

Once she retired from nursing she began a second career in St. Louis as a Certified Nanny. She loved being a nanny and reminisced often about the children in her care.

After two careers and six kids you would think she would retire and relax but not Babe…she then began helping out at her daughters business in California selling furniture! She liked interacting with people and enjoyed staying busy. She continued this until 2019.

One of her most favorite sayings was “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love makes up for many of your faults.”

She will be missed every single day.

Survivors: Christopher, Kevin, Kurt, Karen, Kitty Canada and grandsons John Paul, Clinton Canada and Wyatt and Alex Glenning.

Proceeded in death by: husband Roger Keith and daughter Kim (Canada) Martens

We all love you and will see you again some day in heaven.

Private burial to be held at Jefferson Barracks Nations Cemetery St. Louis, Mo and St. Maurice Cemetery in Morrisonville, Ill.
