Stop littering
Lately, I’ve been behind several vehicles when the drivers flips a cigarette butt out the window. The last one, I decided to honk. She displayed to me her ability to extend one finger while simultaneously restraining the other four. Here’s some curiosities. Do they really think it’s OK to use our town as an ashtray? Are they entitled to that convenience? If they are at home, do they flip them onto their own driveway? If they are in their house, do they flip them into the corner of the kitchen? That would really be convenient. Here’s some questions. Is it legal to litter or is there a law against it? What constitutes litter? Is a cigarette butt to small to count. I wonder how many citations are issued annually for littering? Perhaps a few more would change peoples behavior. Or, perhaps it’s not an issue worth worrying about. For me, I see it as an overt lack of respect for our town and it’s citizens.
