TAYLORVILLE — The Taylorville Optimist Club held its regular meeting on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in the Community Room of the People’s Bank. President John Crist called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the morning prayer led by Ron Spears.
Upcoming business for the Club includes selection of a new slate of officers and board members for the coming year, which begins on Oct. 1, 2022. Also on the agenda is the annual fall fundraiser, our mostaccioli dinner. The event has become very popular and will once again be held as a drive-thru event at Florinda’s on the square in Taylorville. Details will be announced soon.
Ron Spears followed last meeting’s Constitution quiz with a quiz on American History. The members seemed to be more adept at the history of our country than they were on the Constitution. Several questions centered on famous quotes and events.
