TJHS Tornadoes slice through Braves, 15-5

NOKOMIS — The TJHS boys baseball team traveled to Nokomis on Monday night. The visiting Tornadoes batted around scoring three times as many as their Brave opponent. Taylorville ends up topping Nokomis, 15-5. 

The Tornadoes had two innings of seven run ball, the third and the sixth inning respectively. Carter Cappellin paved the way for the dominant offensive performance with 2 hits, 2 runs and 3 runs batted in. Lucas Garlic, Brady Corpin, Gideon Anderson and Brock Brown all had two RBIs a piece. The TJHS Tornadoes as a whole had 12 hits and 13 RBIs. 

Lucas Gerlick took the mound for Taylorville. The right hander threw 4.1 innings, gave up 5 runs on 6 hits and 8 Ks. 

Luke Eisenbarth was on the mound for the Braves. He pitched 4.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 8 runs (1 earned). Eisenbarth also gathered multiple hits on the night.
