Mr. Eugene Frederick Gudgel, Jr., 67, of Tovey, Ill. passed from this life at 12:40 P.M. Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Taylorville, Ill.

He was born in Springfield, Ill. on August 22, 1954, the son of Eugene and Thelma (Wise) Gudgel, Sr.

Mr. Gudgel graduated from South Fork High School with the Class of 1974. He was an: avid Bowler, Hunter, Golfer and Fisherman. He loved: working on motorcycles with his best friend Fuzzy Davis, the trips he took to Colorado with his brothers and the people he met while he was out there, and cats. He worked at the Kincaid Lumber Yard for many years until it closed and later at G.S.I. in Assumption as a Welder.

Surviving are his siblings: Mary (husband Nelson) Hundley of Girard, Ill., Mildred “Midge” (husband Dave) Willett of Kincaid, Ill., Robert (wife Gayla) Gudgel of Girard, Ill., Melissa (husband Dave) Cappellin of Jeisyville, Ill., Annette Allen (companion Jeff Eddington) of Raymond, Ill., Joseph Gudgel of Tovey, Ill., Jacquelyn (husband Greg) Hosto of Kincaid, Ill., Paul (wife Tricia) Gudgel of Fancy Prairie, Ill., many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Susan Gudgel, a niece Tiffiany Stengel, and a nephew Joseph Eugene Fairbrother.

A Celebration of Gene’s Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 22, 2022, at Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, Ill.

Visitation for Mr. Eugene F. “Gene” Gudgel, Jr. will be held from 4 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Masterson’s in Kincaid.
