Just some FYI, the Christian County Health Department is a separate entity from the Christian County board. The connection between them is the County Board appoints the members of the Health Dept. board. The Health Department gets no tax money, they are funded fully through grants,
no monies from the Christian County Board.
The employees are hired by the Health Board not County Board. They are however union members with county employees.

How sad the Covid Response Team at the Christian County Public Health Department has not received any official recognition for their work during a Pandemic. I heard they personally made over 8,000 phone calls in the first year of the Pandemic, took food, medications, cleaning supplies to peoples homes in Christian County. Our local food pantry also helped out a lot of families with their well organized Food Pantry. Covid Response Team Members did wellness checks on people themselves. Got phone calls from medical facilities all hours of the day and night seven days a week with outbreaks of residents and staff members! The County Board it seems did not want to even recognize this Pandemic and we see how they treated the Covid Response Team. Disgraceful, ashamed of all you Elected Officials. And now we are in danger of loosing our Public Health Department all together. And for what reason? Will Taxpayers have to pay in the end to get another Health Department put in place in this County? Or do the Elected Officials feel we do not need a Health Department? They seem to be silent on all of this. You would think some of them would be speaking out about what they are doing to save the Health Department, but instead, silence. Which tells me they don’t care or they just want it gone?
