Brian Christopher Callan
November 18, 1987 — September 26, 2022
Brian Christopher Callan, 34 of Stonington, passed away at 2:29p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Pana Community Hospital. He was born on November 18, 1987 in Taylorville, the son of Daniel E. and Lynn A. (Woodward) Callan. Brian worked as an assistant on a local farm and attended Davis Memorial Christian Church. He loved animals, especially his dog Hope. Brian enjoyed fishing, rock collecting, and could always manage to find a 4-leaf clover anywhere he looked. He will be remembered as an old soul who had a giving personality who would give you the shirt off his back even if he didn’t have one to replace it.
Brian is survived by his mother: Lynn Callan of Stonington; father: Dan Callan (Connie) of Stonington; brother: Andrew Callan of Stonington; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bernard and Marcella Woodward and John and Ada Jean Callan; aunt: Cathy Callan; cousins: Kate Anderson and Sam VanGeison; and girlfriend: Keirsty Hughes.
A visitation for Brian will take place from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022, at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00a.m. with Pastor Keith Schmutzler officiating. Following the service, Brian will be cremated, and a private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Old Stonington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Safe Passage Program or Christian County Animal Control. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
