Chilifest to sell chili by the bowl and quart this year

TAYLORVILLE — The 37th annual Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Chilifest this Saturday and Sunday on the square will feature something that hasnít happened the past 2 years: Hot Chamber chili being sold by the bowl or quart at the Chamber Chili tent on the south side of the Courthouse.

Chamber Chili cooks will be stirring up chili in a giant kettle, as well as serving chili dogs, Pepsi products and all the fixings. A host of volunteers will be taking care of the public as they order food and drinks.

Picnic tables are also back this year to sit on and enjoy the hot chili while they take in the entertainment on the south stage thru-out both days.

Cold Chamber chili by the quart will also be sold out of a refrigerated truck, with drive-thru service being offered on the southeast corner of the square.

A host of events will also be happening, including two days of International Chili Society sanctioned chili cookoffs, over 90 arts and craft vendors, entertainment on both the main south stage and north stage, and a bags tournament.
