2 Pana people arrested for shot fired incident

PANA — On Friday, Sept. 30, at 10:28 a.m., the U.S. Marshal, Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force located and took Tara A. Morrison, 33, and Paul E. Allen Jr., 27, both of Pana, into custody on outstanding warrants. Morrison’s warrant was for reckless discharge of a firearm/endangers, and Allen’s warrant was for aggravated battery/great bodily harm. Bond was set on both subjects for $150,000 with 10% applying. Christian County Correctional Center. On Sept. 24, 2022, at 12:51 p.m., Pana Police and Christian County 911 received a call of a fight in progress near 4th and Oak Street; parking lot north of 4th St. and east of Oak St. Callers reported hearing one gun shot fired during the altercation.

A Pana officer arrived on scene and found an adult male with injuries to the arm and head after reported being struck multiple times with a baseball bat by another male who arrived as a passenger in a vehicle. Witnesses reported hearing one gunshot during the altercation and observed a female holding a firearm standing nearby before leaving the scene with the male aggressor prior to police arriving.

The adult male victim received medical treatment at the hospital for injuries to the arm and head and was later released from care. No other injuries were reported.
