SPRINGFIELD – Who says Halloween is for humans only? Dogs of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to grab their leashes and their humans and join Animal Protective League (APL) at Springfield’s only Halloween Party for dogs! Boo Bark: Party at the Park is this Saturday, October 8th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Stuart Park on Winch Rd., Springfield. The event is sponsored by Bank of Springfield and our media sponsor Tails To Remember Pet Services and will feature a variety of activities for everyone including:PAW-casso Booth where dogs can release their inner creativity with paw painting, Kids Zone with games and activities with fun games for all ages, Pet Costume Contest, Pumpkin decorating, Pet massages from Moxie Massage, and Farm Fresh Truck by Wolfcreek Farms
The Halloween costume contest, sponsored by Green Hyundai will take place at 1:30 with prizes being given out for Spookiest, Funniest, Most Original, and Best dog/owner combination costume. Pets must be registered on-site by 1 pm.
Admission to the entire event is $3 for one dog and $5 for two dogs with all the proceeds going to APL to benefit the animals in our care.
For the fun and safety of all attendees:All dogs must be well behaved and comfortable in large crowds of people and other animals. All dogs MUST be on a leash (except inside the dog runs). No puppies under 4 months of age. No more than 2 dogs per person. All dogs must be healthy to the best of the owner’s knowledge, be current on all shots and have proof of a current rabies vaccine. All dogs must be spayed or neutered..
