MORRISONVILLE — Lots of celebrating went on at Kitchell Memorial Library. Col. Morrison, the founder of Morrisonville, aka Michael Millburg, visited the library to tell everyone why he chose to establish the Village of Morrisonville 150 years ago. He presented the official deed to the town to the present Mayor of Morrisonville, Larry Tolliver. Mayor Tolliver thanked Col. Morrison, and told about the progress of MOrrisonville over the years, especially the addition of new playground equipment at the park for all the community children.
The library was also visited by two pioneer women from the Christian County Historical Society, Mary Ann Lowry and Loretta Law. The ladies showed everyone how to make rag dolls and little doll pillows like pioneer children had. Each child took home a rag doll or pillow kit to make.
Guests of honor were Morrisonville’s royalty, Miss Community Queen Alaina Deal, Little Mis Maebre Millburg, and Little Mister Jacob Fleigle.
Mitchell Memorial Library would like to thank all attendees and program guests. Happy birthday to the Village of Morrisonville.
