Ben Tillery, of Effingham, Illinois, and Julie Nicole Burdick, also of Effingham, were wed on September 24, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. at the White Silo Barn in Parkersburg, Illinois. Julie is the daughter of Karl and Teresa Burdick, of Assumption, Illinois. Her grandparents are Joyce Burdick Gregory, also of Assumption, Jerry and Anna Chance, of Taylorville, Illinois, and Kitty Chance, also of Taylorville. Julie is as 2011 graduate of Taylorville Senior High School, a 2015 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, with a Bachelor of Arts/History. She is currently employed with Heartland Dental in Effingham as an Executive Assistant.
Ben is the son of Larry and Anette Tillery, of Olney, Illinois. His grandparents are Jim and Sue Scott, of Olney, Illinois, Ruth Anderson, also of Olney, and Eddie Goodman, of Louisville, Illinois. Ben is a 2008 graduate of Richland High School in Olney and a 2012 graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He is currently employed with Heartland Dental in Effingham as a Hiring Manager.
The bride was given in marriage by Karl Burdick, her father. The service included a double ring service and was officiated by Matt Jones. Jennifer Shivley, the sister of the bride, served as the Matron of Honor. Rachel Burdick (sister-in-law), Ann Zagotta (friend), Nicole Tillery (groom’s sister), Morgan Tillery (groom’s sister), Brittney West (friend), Heather Greenwood (friend), Lindsey Kapper (Friend) and Heidi Powless (friend) served as bridesmaids. Daphne Shivley and Charlie Burdick, nieces of the bride, served as flower girls.
Andrew Kapper, friend of the groom, served as the Best Man. Kaleb Greenwood (friend), Reid Shan (friend), Derek Keller (friend), Kody Adams (friend), Zach McVaigh (friend) Dylan Herman (friend), Tyler Miller (friend), and Greg Storozuk (future brother-in-law) were all groomsmen at the wedding. Cole Burdick, nephew of the bride, served as the ringbearer.
JP Harbaugh, Kristofer Harbaugh, Matt Burdick, and Shea Shivley all served as ushers.
The reception was held at the White Silo Barn at 5:30 p.m. The couple will go to Cacun, Mexico for their honeymoon this summer, and are currently making their home in Effingham.
