Pana falls to rival Shelbyville

(SHELBYVILLE) — An offensive explosion in which the Shelbyville Rams scored a dozen 3-point baskets and five players finished in double figures to smoke rival Pana, 71-39, in a non- conference game Tuesday night.

Drake McDonald led the barrage with 16 points and Chase Wells and Jack Jackson each scored 13 points for the Rams. Ethan Wells and Myles Hammond put in 11 apiece.

For Pana, senior Devon Peebles popped for 19 points. No one else found double figures in scoring. Brayden Carlson put in 7 points with Max Lynch adding 6. Ace Armstrong scored 4 points with Parker Ruot having 2 and Brant Bowker, 1 point.

The Rams took a 21- 11 first quarter lead and never looked back. They had a 36-21 halftime lead before posting a 58-33 advantage at the end of three quarters.

It was Pana’s first loss of the season as they fall to 2-1. On Friday, Dec. 9, the Panthers host Hillsboro for their first South Central Conference game of the season. Saturday, Auburn will come to Pana for a non-conference contest.
