LINCOLN — Taylorville took the small trek up to Lincoln on Tuesday, Dec 6. The boys basketball match featured two Apollo teams on opposite ends of the conference. The Railsplitters had no problem taking the game from the Tornadoes, 61-28.
Will Bitschenauer lead his team in points with 13. He was the only player in Purple and Gold to reach double digit points on Tuesday. He finished 5/13 shooting, snagged two rebounds and stole the ball once.
Senior Myles Clayton put up five points of his own and went 1-1 at the free throw line. Sophomores Drake Howard and Baron Odam combined for 4 points and 4 rebounds.
Taylorville didn’t have an answer for Payton Cook who was allowed 25 points on the night. Turnovers is what also ruined the Tornadoes chances of victory. They turned the ball over a total of 25 times to Lincoln’s 7.
The varsity boys basketball team falls to a rough 0-7 start to the 2022-’23 season. They will be in Tolono Il on Friday to take on the Rockets. Tip- off for the non-conference match will be at 7:00 p.m.
