Helen Tarrant

January 21, 1929 — February 1, 2023

Helen Tarrant, 94, of Taylorville passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born January 21, 1929 to the late Webb and Ruby (Burrus) Moutrey.

She married George Davis in 1946, and then later divorced. She then married Charles Tarrant in 1965 in Herrick. Helen was a homemaker, living in Herrick her whole life. She loved music, singing and dancing. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

Helen is survived by her children: Joyce Johnson of Taylorville, Ill., Raymond (Jo Ann) Davis of Herrick, Ill., Linda (Mel) Corley of Brandon, MS, Marsha Hackney of Lovely Kentucky, Robin Long of Toupelo, MS, Donnie (Melissa) Tarrant of Beecher City, Ill, and Ronnie Tarrant of Herrick, Ill. She is also survived by many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Jobe Moutrey and George Moutrey, and daughter: Rhonda Raye Tarrant.

Funeral Services for Helen will be held Saturday February 4, 2023 in Herrick Baptist Church at 11a.m. with Rev. Ronald Brown officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of the service in the church. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Herrick Illinois.

Memorials in Helen’s honor can be made to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
