Lancers take back to back wins
RAMSEY
RAMSEY — The Lincolnwood basketball team kept their win streak alive on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The Lancers faced off against the Rams from Ramsey for the non-conference matchup. They took the game by a final score of 48-23, extend their win streak to 7 games and improve to 17-7 on the season.
Senior Braden Whalen is on a tear this winter. He finished the Tuesday night contest with 19 points. Brady Schmedeke too finished in the double digit points range. The junior’s night ended with 10 points scored. Junior Gabe Armentrout (8) and sophomore Jonah Elvidge (5) finished with a combined 13 points. The sophomore trio of Jared Klein (3), Brayden Morris (2) and Kennedy Cook (1) added 6 points themselves.
Lincolnwood flew out of the gate and put up 20 in just the first quarter alone. They ended the night with 48 and held the Rams to just 23.
BUNKER HILL
BUNKER HILL — With no time taken in between games the Lincolnwood boys basketball team took off to Bunker Hill on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The Minutemen gave the Lancers a game with the match going into overtime. Lincolnwood held on taking the contest by three points, 40-37 the final score.
It was three players who held down the scoring for Lincolnwood during the Wednesday game. Braden Whalen showed out yet again to put the orange and black over the edge. The senior scored 20 points. Brady Schmedeke, the junior, finished in double digit points with 11 total. The sophomore Jonah Selvedge added 9 points to the total. While those three held down the offensive side Gabe Armentrout, Zake GuzemanKennady Cook and Brayden Morris held it down on the defensive side.
The two teams found themselves tied at 35 points at the final buzzer. The Lancers outscored their Minutemen opponent 5-2 in overtime to take the victory back to Raymond with them.
They improve to 18-7 on the season and will peer ahead to their match against Carlinville on Saturday, Feb. 4. The non-conference match will be played at home with tip-off at 6:15 p.m.
