TAYLORVILLE — Taylorville Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler announced the arrest of a Taylorville juvenile on the charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.

The Taylorville Police Department has an officer assigned to the Illinois Attorney General Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. During a month’s-long Internet child pornography investigation, they had enough evidence to make an arrest.

Members of the Emergency Response Team also conducted a search warrant to seize various items of evidence. TPD called in the Attorney General Evidence Response Team to assist in their findings.

The juvenile was taken into custody and charged and is currently detained at a juvenile detention center. Police from Assumption and Kincaid Police Departments also assisted.

In another incident, Chief Wheeler announced the arrest of two subjects yesterday during a search warrant.

Members of the Emergency Response Team and the Community Action Team executed a search warrant. Arrested and charged were Justin L. Moma, 40 and Casey D. Moma, 39 , both of Taylorville.

These subjects are currently charged with Armed Violence, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Firearm by a Felon, and other charges expected. Both subjects have felony convictions from the United States Attorney’s Office and have spent time in federal prison for methamphetamine-related charges.

Assisting with the arrests were the Assumption and Kincaid Police Departments.
