Pana ‘88 Championship Team Honored

(PANA) — The Pana Panthers boys 1988 Class A state championship basketball team was honored Saturday night, Feb. 4, on the 35th anniversary of the championship, prior to the Pana-Taylorville basketball game in the Pana High School gym. The Panthers defeated the Pickneyville Panthers, 62-58, on Mar. 12, 1988. Team members who gathered for the event are, kneeling, from left, cheerleaders Kristina Miller Minth, Milana Nollman Bergstrom and Cristy Ryley Long. In back, Mark Heaton, Kevin Micek, Head Coach Charlie Strasburger, Doug Moss, Trqavis Sims, Greg Pollman, Gary Tidwell, Tom Funneman and Bill Scoles, manager.
