Patricia L. Boarman

Patricia “Pat” Louise Boarman, 94, of Pawnee, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at OSF HealthCare Transitional Care Hospital in Peoria. Pat was born Dec. 10, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of John P. and Ruth L. Campbell Maloney. She married James L. Boarman Aug. 10, 1957, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, in 1974; two daughters, Clara L. in 1961 and Mary Pat in 1989; a grandson, Kyle W. Boarman, in 2007; and a sister, Catherine Glossop.

Pat graduated from Cathedral School, Sacred Heart Academy in 1947 and Springfield College in Illinois.

She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid, a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pawnee and was active with the Pawnee Catholic Women and Altar and Rosary Society and the Pawnee Food Pantry. Pat also was a 50-plus-year leader of the Pawnee Agriculture 4-H Club.

She is survived by three sons, James H. (wife, Tina) Boarman of Springfield, John W. (wife, Roberta) Boarman of Toulon and Glenn T. Boarman of Pawnee; four grandchildren, Claire, James, Ryan and Cat; four great-grandchildren, Anna, Charles, John Patrick and Harriet; two sisters, Barbara Knighton of Laughlin, Nevada, and Fran Gibson of Monticello; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat’s family will meet friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. The funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dan Willenborg and Rev. Piotr Kosk officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.
