Wendy A. Kroski

August 29, 1944 — March 9, 2023

Wendy A. Kroski, 78, of Pana passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. She was born August 29, 1944 in Evergreen Park, Ill, daughter of the late Matthew A. and Helen (Zysco) Rodeghier.

Wendy majored in Art at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where she met the love of her life, Donald Kroski. She and Donald were married on March 7, 1964 and had just celebrated 59 wonderful years together.

Wendy had worked as a teacher’s aide in special education. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pana, where she was a member of the choir and Prayer Partners; Pana P.E.O; Delta Theta Tau Sorority and very proud to be a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed art, especially painting and pastels.

In addition to her husband, Wendy is survived by her children: Erica (Greg) Nordtvedt, Kenosha, WI; Kirsten (Scott) Komandosky, Taylor, Texas; Heather Kroski (Michael Barber), Chicago, Ill.; Daniel Kroski, Pana, Ill; grandchildren: Evan, Ella, Sadey, Alyssa, Dagen, Samuel, Elias; great grandchildren: Elliott and Brendon and brother, Tony (Rhonda) Rodegheir, Port Townsend, Wash. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rhoda Christensen.

Per Wendy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Wendy’s honor may be made to the Pana P.E.O. or First United Methodist Church, Pana and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
