Joyce Gay Denning
March 30, 1951 — March 10, 2023
Joyce Gay Denning passed away at 4:30 p.m. on March 10, 2023 at the Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.
Joyce was born in Taylorville on March 30, 1951, to Elwood Ray and Rose Marie (Curry) Denning. She resided in Taylorville most of her life working as a housekeeping and care giver. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
Joyce loved her family and friends. She was very talented in drawing, painting, and wood carving, and if you were lucky, you received some of her art projects.
Joyce was the “glue” of her family, keeping everyone together and in touch with each other. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joyce leaves behind her sister Sheila (Bill) Nation and brothers Brad (Velory) and Todd (Niki) Denning, all of Taylorville; brother Jeff (Rose) of Branson Missouri, and sister-in-law Judy Denning of Kempner, Texas as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronnie, Jay, David, Lee, and Bruce Denning.
As per Joyce’s wishes, her body was donated to science. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
I’m so sad to learn of the passing of my friend Joyce. She was such a sweetheart and so guilt and shy. She was my best friend buddy in grade school.I send to sit on the bench at Walmart and visit with her and talk about our days at Hewitt School. She was a lovely person and I’m sure she will be missed. Rest easy Sweet Joyce! Prayers for all of her family!
I just saw this. Rest in peace Joyce. Remembering days gone by and happier times.
