Local blood drives happening March 29 and 31

CHRISTIAN COUNTY — A community blood drive with ImpactLife, the provider of blood components for local hospitals will be held in Morrisonville and Taylorville on Mar. 29 and 31, respectively.

In Morrisonville, the blood drive will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 109 SE 5th Street, inside United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

The Taylorville Christian Church will host Taylorville’s blood drive Friday, Mar. 31, 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. at 1124 N Webster St, inside Fellowship Hall.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www. bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, please call ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401. Donors who last gave blood on or before Feb. 3, 2023 are eligible to give at this drive.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
