Rita “Marlene” Kinsey

August 15, 1958 — March 28, 2023

Rita “Marlene” Kinsey, 64, Oconee passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. She was born August 15, 1958 in Taylorville, Ill., daughter of the late Charles and Josephine (Yonikus) Stickel. Marlene married Bill Kinsey on November 5, 1977 in Assumption and he survives in Oconee, Ill.
Marlene was a graduate of Assumption High School. She was of the Catholic faith and had worked for GPI as a fork truck driver and retired after over 25 years. Marlene enjoyed playing bingo and solitaire on her phone. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Chris Kinsey; Wendy (Adam) Schwab and Jamie Kinsey; grandchildren: Lily Schwab, Lexi Schwab, Ryann Kinsey, Rudy Schwab, Dawson Kinsey, Bailey Kinsey and Josey Kinsey; siblings: William Stickel, Mary Kay (John) Bonn, Susan (Dennis) Pescitelli, Judith Ann Stickel, Joe (Brenda) Stickel and close friends, Sandy and Marty VanDoren. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Pat Stickel and father and mother-in-law, Billy and Lolita Kinsey.

Funeral mass for Marlene will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Assumption at 11:00 a.m. with Father Pawel Augustyniak Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Assumption. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the church.

Memorials in Marlene’s honor may be made to Sacred Heart School, Pana and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
