(PANA) — The Shelbyville Rams banged out 19 hits enroute to a 13-2 shellacking of the Pana Panthers baseball team on Tuesday afternoon at Panthers Field in 5 innings. For the Panthers, they could only must 2 hits on Senior Day.
In pre-game ceremonies, senior Brant Bowker was honored as the team’s lone senior for this campaign.
Blayne Pope took the loss for Pana. He gave up 7 runs on 7 hits going an inning-and-a-third. Ryan Karbach relieved, also giving up 7 hits and 6 runs with a strikeout. Landon Meadows struck out 2.
Cole File and Madyx Angel each had hits for Pana and File had an RBI.
Shelbyville broke out to a 7-0 lead after the first 2 innings and Pana got a run back in the bottom of the second. In the 3rd, the Rams struck for 6 more runs to make it 13-1. The Panthers got their final tally in the bottom of the 5th.
Pana drops to 7-16 on the season while the Rams improve to 21-5. The Panthers will go to Sullivan on Thursday before returning home to face Raymond-Lincolnwood on Friday. First pitch is at 4:30 at Sullivan and 4:00 p.m. at home. Saturday, May 13, Effingham St. Anthony comes to Panthers Field for the final home game of the season at 10:00 a.m.
