Pana Junior High state track qualifiers
Several Pana Junior High School athletes have qualified for Friday and Saturday’s Illinois Elementary School Association’s (IESA) State Track and Field Meet in East Peoria. The Class 3A Sectional Meet was held at Williamsville. The PJHS eighth grade 4 x 100-meter relay team qualified for state with a second place finish and a qualifying time of 53.29 seconds. Members of the relay are, from left, Lilly Jostes, Bella Bennett, Lilly Bauer and McKylee Rhoades.
Phoenix Pope was the winner of the eighth grade Williamsville IESA Sectional discus throw with a distance of 102-feet, 7 inches and qualifies for the state finals.
Making it to the IESA state seventh grade 1,600-meter run is Colt Perkins. He was second in the sectional with a qualifying time of 5:13.66.
With a qualifying time of 58.55 seconds, Micah Meadows made it to the seventh grade 400-meter dash.
Pana’s seventh grade 4 x 400-meter relay team was second and qualified for the state meet
with a time of 4:10.50. Team members are, from left, Colt Perkins, Micah Meadows, Brayden Hicks and Tucker Beyers. The junior high teams are coached by Missy Ade and Paul Donahue.
