Three athletes rep Orange and Navy at State

CHARLESTON — Pana High School sent three athletes to compete in preliminary events at the IHSA 1A Boys State Track and Field meet on Friday, May 26. Two of the three advanced to the finals with one falling just short of qualification.
Junior Connor McGlauchlen hurled the Discus a total of 153” 10.75’ ft. This distance gave him an 8th place finish which allowed him to move onto the finals portion of the meet.
The second athlete of the day to push ahead to finals was Isaiah Harbert. The sophomore Pole Vaulted himself 3.70m into the air giving him 13th place securing a spot in the finals.
Sam Sims had the lone track event for the team in the 400m dash. The sophomore finished in 29th place with a time of 53.15 just missing qualification.
Results for the finals portion of the IHSA 1A State Track and Field meet will be in Tuesday’s edition of the Breeze-Courier.
