Pana’s McGlauchlen gets third in discus at state
CHARLESTON — The boys from Pana and Taylorville capped off their Spring season at the IHSA State Track and Field meet on Saturday, May 27. Two athletes headlined for the Pana Panthers for the finals portion of the PHS junior Connor McGlauchlen (above) earned a spot up on the podium with his performance in the Discus field event. He tossed the discus 163-feet, 3.75 inches, giving him and the Panthers a third place finish. Sophomore Isaiah Harbert (below) finished with a “No Height” for the Pole Vault event and did not finish.
TAYLORVILLE
The Taylorville boys saw junior Jesse Sloan and sophomore Drake Howard represent the Purple and Gold at the State finals. Sloan raced in the 3,200m run and finished with a total time of 10:53.71 which gave him a 34th place finish. Drake Howard just missed the top ten in the Pole Vault event. He reached a height of 13-feet, 5.5 inches, giving him an 11th place finish.
