STONINGTON — Visit the gardens of Tim and Lynnae Armstrong on their property in Stonington on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The garden at the Armstrong home features a collection of unique trees, many of them conifers, as well as beds including many items up cycled to accent the plantings.
“I’ve heard of many hidden treasures of unique conifers at the Armstrong property” says Andrew Holsinger, University of Illinois Extension horticulture educator in Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery Counties.
Register at go.illinois.edu/conifertour to see all the amazing conifers in context of planting. You are invited to visit the garden anytime between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
At the garden, visitors will be encouraged to tour at their leisure. The homeowners will be available to answer questions along with Christian County Master Gardeners. Adequate parking is available. There is no restroom available onsite.
The cost to attend is free. Registration is required. Location details will be provided in registration confirmation. Registration closes midnight on June 16.
Christian County Master Gardeners visited the site recently and were astounded at the diversity of conifers planted.
“Anyone who enjoys the beauty of gardening will surely enjoy visiting the Armstrong’s landscape” says Gwen Podeschi, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener.
