TAYLORVILLE — The Taylorville Board of Education held a special meeting in the district office boardroom at 1100 North Sportsman Drive in Taylorville. The meeting was Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
The board opened the meeting and discussed going into an executive session regarding, self-evaluation, practices, procedures, and professional ethics when meeting with a statewide association representative of the public body. The board also reviewed interim superintendent applicants. The executive session started at 4:33 p.m. and returned to the open session at 6:00 p.m. Jennifer Norries, and Trisia Marburger did not attend the executive session.
Returning to Open Session, the board discussed strategic planning and action on the bids for the THS classroom addition. Jennifer Norris joined the board for this discussion. Trisha Marburger was not in attendance. The board unanimously accepted the proposals for the Special Education Classroom Addition. Ann Chandler motioned to accept the bids and Carla Mickey seconded the motion. The total cost for the project is $1,978,521. Midwest Construction Professional brought the project’s price down by a total of $1,669,668. After accepting the Special Education Addiction bids, the board discussed returning to executive session at 6:12 p.m. The board returned from the executive session to open the meeting at 8:25 p.m. and motioned to close the evening proceedings at 8:26 p.m.
