Mr. and Mrs. Merle Fisher Jr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Friday, July 28, 2023.
The couple was married on July 28, 1963 in Taylorville at the Davis Memorial Christian Church. Rev. Charles A. Day was the officiant. Attendants were the late Shirley (Criner) Eversgerd, sister of the bride, and Roy Fisher, brother of the groom.
Earlene’s parents are the late Earl and Matilda Vaughn of Taylorville. Merle’s parents are the late Merle and Genevieve Fisher of Palmer.
They are the parents of three children, Tim Fisher and Cindy (Dan) Dennis, all of Taylorville, and David Fisher of Chatham. They are also proud grandparents of Danielle Joan Dennis and Meghan Nicole Dennis.
Merle is a retired auto body man and Earlene is a housewife.
A family dinner will be held in their honor at a later date.
