TAYLORVILLE — The Christian County Economic Development Corporation today announced the appointment of Matt Hart as its new Executive Director effective September 25. This comes following the retirement of its former Executive Director, Dick Adams, on August 31. Hart grew up in Taylorville and earned a Bachelor of Finance from the University of Illinois.
CCEDC President John Gardner said the selection was made after several hours of interviews and deliberation by the Corporation’s Search Committee. He added Hart will be a great proponent of economic development for all county areas. Upon his appointment, Hart stated, “It is an honor to serve the people and the businesses of Christian County as the new Executive Director of the CCEDC. Christian County is a great place to work, live, and raise a family.”
Hart added that Economic Development doesn’t happen independently, saying that growing businesses and jobs require multiple levels of communication. Hart looks forward to the opportunity of serving existing companies and attracting new businesses as well. Christian County Economic Development Corporation is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote creating and retaining jobs to increase the economic tax base, including developing, establishing, and expanding commerce and industry in the Christian County area.
