TAYLORVILLE — Sewers and crafters are invited to a new group, “Sew Sweet Missions.” Their goal is to sew boy and girl outfits. Later, members will learn to develop their skills as the group branches out into crafting school book bags for Pawnee. Next, they will add lap quilts for our nursing homes. The group will sew on Oct. 6 and 20, 2023. The first and third Fridays are from 10 am to 3 pm in the Pence building at the Christian Country Historical Society at 1791 Morrison Drive in Taylorville. There will be material available. If you can’t stay and sew, there will be a kit you can sign out, then return the next sew day. Please bring your sewing machine and any sewing supplies you have for cutting, penning, and sewing. No worries if you can’t sew. There is always ironing and cutting out material. The event costs five dollars for the day. Lunch will be provided on the first day. If you have any questions, call the Christian County Historical Society—at 217-824-6922; Monita Kalka or Lorretta Law will provide more information.
