Division 4: Roadway & Final Site Grading

will be received by the City of Assumption at the office of City Clerk 229 N. Chestnut Street IL 62510 until 2:00 pm, November 29th, 2023, and then at said office each publicly opened and read aloud. Each separate Division will be awarded separately.

Electronic Contract Documents may be obtained at no cost by requesting them from mbingham@binghamengineer.com. Printed versions of the Contract Documents may be obtained by requesting them from mbingham@binghamengineer.com and upon payment of $100 for each set.

This contract calls for the construction of a public work, within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.) (the Act). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the prevailing rate of wages (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits), in the county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labors website at https://labor.illinois.gov/. Contractor and Subcontractors shall include in bids, the cost for the current prevailing wage (Illinois Prevailing Wage Act – 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.). The Contractor shall ensure that any Subcontractors shall comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.

Bid security in the form of a bid bond or bank cashierís check in an amount equal to five percent (5%), of the base bid is required from all bidders. Guaranty bonds in the form of a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%), of each bid will be required from the awarded bidders. The work will be done in compliance with the Contract Documents.
